PTSD
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a mental health condition that may occur after someone has experienced a traumatic event. PTSD affects approximately 9 million adults in the USA.
Common Symptoms of PTSD include:

-flash backs
-avoiding places or objects that remind a person of the traumatic event
-depression
-numbness
-guilt
-anger
-feeling easily startled
Treatment often includes talk therapy, medication and self soothing techniques. Other specialized treatment, such as EMDR, may also be helpful. During your initial consultation, Dr. Turner will assess for symptoms of PTSD. If indicated, she will refer you to an EMDR specialist to enhance your treatment.
