Depression

Depression is more than simply feeling sad or blue. Depression is a mental health condition that affects approximately 21 million adults in the US at some point in their lifetime. Some people experience depression more than once.

Common symptoms include decreased energy and concentration, hopelessness, lack of interest, changes to sleep or appetite. Some people may also experience suicidal thoughts.

There are many treatment options for those experiencing depression. Treatment options include talk therapy, medication, lifestyle changes (such as exercise), and light therapy. Other therapies such as TMS, ECT and ketamine are sometimes recommended.

During your comprehensive assessment, if it is determined that you are experiencing depression, Dr. Turner will assist you in finding appropriate treatment. Dr. Turner does not offer TMS, ECT or ketamine in her clinic, however she is able to place referrals when needed.
